Leslie is currently a Director for Clinical systems at Vanderbilt which comprises oversight of physician order entry, nurse notification and documentation, medication administration and pharmacy system applications. She has a liaison role with Radiation Oncology and a leadership role in the oversight of Cancer information systems and integration of clinical information systems at Vanderbilt.
She practiced until 2008 at Duke University Health System in Durham, NC, where she directed the McKesson® (general pediatric and adult), Varian® (oncology) and Wellsoft® (Emergency department) order entry systems, medication and allergy integration, and Varian® Radiation oncology systems.
Leslie served in a variety of clinical and administrative capacities in the Department of Pharmacy at Duke beginning in 1980. She assumed responsibility for Pharmacy Information systems, automation and departmental liaison to information systems throughout Duke in 1993. She implemented numerous pharmacy systems including Cerner, Pharmnet®, the McKesson Rxobot® and HMM® systems, Pyxis® and had IT oversight for the departmental network, Web integration, outpatient, inventory and custom database systems.
She earned a baccalaureate degree in pharmacy from the University of Illinois and a master degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She has lectured on many aspects of pharmacy and information systems. She has represented pharmacy in many capacities both at the state and national level. She is currently a director at large for the ASHP Section of Pharmacy Informatics and Technology.
