Academic Careers at the FOPH

Fulltime Faculty Staff Positions

The Faculty of Public Health advertises open positions according to the Kuwait University online application schedule, with two application cycles per year, usually around the approximate timeframes of January to March and then June to August.

The official KU recruitment portal will list open positions and their specific criteria for appointment. Applications will only be accepted by online submission through the following website portal, and only when the application period is open: http://vpaa.ku.edu.kw/viewjobs/

Visiting Professor Positions

From time to time, there may be an opening for a Visiting Professorship at the Full Professor level, but these are not advertised on the university recruitment portal. Applicants for Visiting Professor positions may inquire regarding available positions by sending their CV’s to the respective Departments at the following addresses:

  • Environmental and Occupational Health – recruitment.eoh@hscph.ku.edu.kw
  • Epidemiology and Biostatistics – recruitment.eb@hscph.ku.edu.kw
  • Health Policy and Management – recruitment.hpm@hscph.ku.edu.kw

  • Social and Behavioral Sciences – recruitment.sbs@hscph.ku.edu.kw

Teaching Assistant Positions

The FOPH periodically advertises for Teaching Assistants, and will continue to do so as the academic programs are developed and implemented. Applications can be submitted officially on the Kuwait University Online Recruitment Portal when advertisements for positions are active. If no positions are listed on the website for the FOPH, please check back periodically, since job postings will be added in due course on a regular basis.

Scholarship Program

The FOPH Scholarship Program is advertised annually on the official Kuwait University Scholarship Portal, usually in the November to March timeframe. The scholarship program invites individuals with a Master degree in a relevant field to apply within a specific department for appointment to the scholarship program. The requirements for the scholarship include a GPA of 3.0 or greater in the Master degree and acceptance into a relevant doctoral (PhD or DrPH program) at an accepted University (click here for a list of accepted universities and general conditions for the 2017/18 academic year. Note: this list may change from year to year). Scholarship students from the FOPH who graduate with the doctoral degree return to the FOPH as junior faculty members.
