“Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics ”
The Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics engages in teaching disciplines of basic pharmacology and therapeutics and has its research focused on many aspects of basic pharmacology and pharmacokinetics. Members of the department teach and mentor both undergraduate and postgraduate students at Faculties of Pharmacy and Medicine. The department has been adding to its expertise by attracting new academic members to its staff which currently stands at 11.
The research carried out by departmental staff are in the areas of pain, brain disorders, diabetes, GIT diseases, inflammation and its mediators, respiratory diseases, cancer, pharmacokinetics and therapeutic drug monitoring.
