Qubit Fluorometer-Invitrogen

  Qubit Fluorometer-Invitrogen

The Complete System:

The Qubit® 2.0 Fluorometer is an easy-to-use, analytical instrument designed to work seamlessly with the Qubit® assays (previously known as Quant-iT™ assays) for DNA, RNA, and protein quantitation. The integrated design of the instrument and assays results in the Qubit® 2.0 Fluorometer being far more sensitive and accurate than UV absorbance; this helps avoid repetition of experiments due to inaccurate nucleic acid or protein measurements. It is ideal for cloning, sequencing, transfection, qPCR, microarrays, protein gels, Western blots, and protein activity assays.

With the Qubit® 2.0 Fluorometer you get:

  • A platform designed to provide highly accurate and specific measurement of DNA, RNA, or protein
  • State-of-the-art optical components
  • Sophisticated data analysis
  • An intuitive user interface
  • Small sample volume requirement (1–20 µl)
  • Small bench footprint

Obtain More Accurate Results than with UV Absorbance

The Qubit® 2.0 Fluorometer is far more sensitive and accurate than UV absorbance, which measures anything absorbing at 260 nm—DNA, RNA, protein, free nucleotides, or excess salts. Moreover, UV spectrophotometry often does not have the sensitivity to accurately measure low concentrations of DNA and RNA. According to the MIQE Publication Guidelines (Ref 1), the preferred method for quantifying RNA uses fluorescent RNA-binding dyes. With the Qubit® Fluorometer, your research is enhanced by more accurate measurements because the dyes in the Qubit® assay kits fluoresce only when bound to the selected molecule—DNA, RNA, or protein—in your sample. This allows you to avoid repeating work due to inaccurate measurements.

Save Samples—and Bench Space

The thoughtfully designed Qubit® 2.0 Fluorometer requires samples of only 1–20 µl. It is intended for use at room temperature and occupies only a small amount of bench space. The Qubit® 2.0 Fluorometer features advanced optics and data analysis algorithms, and comes equipped with a USB drive for data transfer to Excel® software and software downloads, universal power supply, four plug adapters, and has electromagnetic CE certification.

Single Sample Measurements are a Breeze

This user-friendly fluorometer is combined with quick, simple assay procedures. Calculations and settings are automatically performed by the instrument. The Qubit® assays for use with the Qubit® 2.0 Fluorometer are all performed using the same general protocol, which utilizes a simple mix-and-read format with incubation times of only 2 minutes required for DNA and RNA assays. 500-µl thin-walled PCR tubes (Cat. No. Q32856) are required.
